Modern and Traditional Everyday Carry - Cole Stegall (@c_stegall.photo)

Be it for separating food prep and hard use or simply a “less scary” option for use in public, it’s very common to see a single carry tout both a modern locking folder and a traditional slip joint knife side by side. Cole (@c_stegall.photo) shares a carry with this juxtaposition of classic and modern blades and gave his knife a few tweaks to truly make it his own.

The Refyne pens are fantastic for the price, and I love the patina it’s taken. The Civivi Exarch has been in my rotation for a long time. It’s a solid budget option and front flipping is so satisfying. I am currently modding this one, so far I have done an acid etch on the blade, liners, and clip. I also Rit dyed the scales charcoal grey to get them darker.

GEC is relatively new to my collection and I am happy to have mine, it’s very useful for lending someone a practical knife, and the second blade is really good for wood carving on the go when I don’t have my carving knife. The Islander is an unbeatable alternative to a Seiko SKX since their discontinuation, I wear it quite often and the size is perfect for my smaller wrists. All of this sits on a handmade leather tray from a little shop in Camden, Alabama.
