Used and Abused Everyday Carry - @jb255

Sometimes a piece of gear has a value that you just can’t put your finger on. I’m not talking about some expensive Sebenza or a watch that would make James Bond blush, I’m talking something like @jb255’s 7-year-old Zippo lighter. I won’t steal any of this thunder, he knows what it means to him. All I’ll say is that I know kids who are younger than that Zippo.

The Elementum has become my daily for opening packages from time to time at work. The SR2 gets swapped when I am at work for an i3T EOS due to the convenience. When it comes to the Zippo though, it has become more of a fidget tool but it does get used as a regular for my cigars. It was gifted to me by my father when I worked onboard ships and has been in my pocket daily now for 7 years. Thus why the black finish is fading off and revealing the beautiful brass below. Patina patina patina.. am I right? Personally I use and abuse my gear the way it was meant, for this reason I stick to a more budget line up.

Wondering if I should take the nickel finish off the Timex Expedition because as I have recently learned, the case is made of brass. What are your thoughts? In addition, Any recommended hanks out there from crafters in the Discord?
