The BioLite FirePit is now available to purchase

BioLite, the company behind one of my favorite wood stoves, successfully funded another Kickstarter project last year, the FirePit.

Built on the same technology as its existing camp stoves, the FirePit can burn either wood or charcoal and has 51 air jets to inject the fire with oxygen. This not only makes the temperature throughout the burn chamber more uniform, it helps reduce smoke. It has a built-in 10,400 mAh battery that will last up to 24 hours and can be recharged via USB or a solar cover that is sold separately ($60).

The BioLite CampStove 2 is easily one of our favorite stoves here at MOD. We reviewed it last year and while it may not be the most ideal _backpacking_ stoves around (there are much lighter gas and wood burning stoves available), it's a hell of a lot of fun to use and burns extremely hot.
