Gerber's newest knife is a folding pocket cleaver

Gerber FlatIron | $42

Gerber FlatIron | $42

Announced back in February, one of Gerber's newest additions to its folding knives lineup is finally available for purchase. It's called the FlatIron and it takes several design cues from the increasingly popular folding cleaver-style knives, like the Boker Magnum Outdoor Cuisine or Spyderco Roc.

The FlatIron features a 3.8" 7Cr17MoV steel blade with a large thumb hole for one-handed opening. The handle has a frame lock system and comes with either Desert Tan G-10 composite or Grey machined aluminum scales. The overall length when opened is 8.5". It also has a finger choil at the base of the blade for choking up and fine cutting control.

Gerber offers the FlatIron in two color options at two different price points. The Desert Tan model with G-10 scales will set you back $42 while the Grey model with an aluminum handle is just $37.
